This is why I feel like sometimes activism in Kenya is just a trendy aesthetic.

Sometimes people mean it but after sometime it looses its meaning and people go on as if whatever they were protesting about never happened.

This was an eye opener for real to look beyond.

so true, if we keep relying on the aesthetics of protests, nothing beautiful can ever come out of our actions. we need something real, sustainable and durable if we are to truly break free. Aesthetics fade off when reality comes back around to bite us.

I have really found this meaningful for youth Activism and movement building. You know we have so many trendy campaigns in this country but sometimes I feel like we miss the whole point of a sustainable, ideological, structured and organised movements that move beyond maandamano and even election day because those are one day events. This is such a great piece. I will share it with as many people as possible.
